The first instalment of this 2010 blog is dedicated to the following fall semester students, listed alphabetically:
Cox, Elisabet
Davis, Clayton
Doell, Karla
Higgins, Alyssa
Hoimyr, Aaron
Hwang, Joon (Joonha)
Kim, Frankie (Hyoung Jin)
Kim, John (Hee Jong)
Lee, Soon (Soon Suk)
Savard, Jessie
Shaheen, Aleta
Tredoux, Jacques
van Hoeve, Michael
Vargas, Melanie Moyano
Wengel, Regis
Whitford, Quentin
Dear Students,
Your original writings will appear on the home page as individual posts, as well as in the ten student pages—eventually (several share because there are more students than pages).
Here’s how I grouped the duos: Aaron and Regis are friends, as are Jessie and Mel; I liked the euphony (“good sound”) of Soon and Joon; Michael and Alyssa are dating, hence their page-pairing; and my fervent hope is that by sharing poetry space with classmate Clayton, gentle Jacques will be encouraged to value his own ink-offerings as much as others already value his spoken utterances.
